Edit site pages
Open one of your sites, navigate to a page, change its content, and see the change in the live preview.
Before you start: you need edit access to the site (your administrator assigns this by role). If your site requires changes to go through an update package, also read Update packages — the editor will ask you to pick or create one before you can edit.
Open a site
Section titled “Open a site”- Click Sites in the header bar (or click a site name in the Sites list on the Dashboard).
- In the sites list, find your site and click Edit.
- If the site allows direct editing, the site editor opens immediately.
- If the site requires packaged updates, a dialog asks you to Select an existing package or Create New Package (give it a name and an optional description). Your edits are then made inside that package rather than directly on the live site, and the package name appears as a badge next to the site name.
- The Review button on a packaged site opens the editor read-only — a green REVIEW ONLY badge shows at the top and editing is disabled.
Find your way around the editor
Section titled “Find your way around the editor”The site editor has three panels, left to right:
- Site structure — the tree of sections and pages that make up the site’s navigation. Click a section to expand it; click a page to open it.
- Preview — a live preview of the currently selected page, loaded from the site’s preview URL. The bar above it shows the page address.
- Page editor — the content of the selected page: its fields, text areas, and any content items placed on the page.
You can drag the dividers to resize the panels, or use the Hide toggles on the panel edges to collapse the structure or page editor panel and give the preview more room.
Edit a page
Section titled “Edit a page”- In the Site structure panel, navigate to the section that contains the page and click the page name. The preview and page editor update to show that page.
- In the Page editor panel, click into the field you want to change — for most pages this is a rich text content area where the body text, links, and images live. You can also click a content area directly in the Preview panel; the page editor jumps to that item.
- Make your edits. Pages built from several content items (for example a home page with separate sections) show each item in the page editor — click into an item to edit it, and drag items within a reference list to reorder them.
- Click Save in the page editor. The preview refreshes to show your change (use the refresh button in the preview bar if you want to force a reload).
Add pages, sections, and links
Section titled “Add pages, sections, and links”Use the + button in the Site structure panel to open the Manage Site Content dialog:
- Add New… creates a new Section (a grouping in the navigation), a new Page (a new content item of a page type), or a Link (an internal or external URL placed in the navigation).
- Add Existing… places a page that already exists in your repository into the current section.
Each entry in the tree also has controls to move it up or down, move it into another section, hide it from the site navigation, mark it as the section’s root (landing) page, or remove it.
Preview options
Section titled “Preview options”- Change Preview URL — if the site has more than one preview destination configured, switch between them here.
- The open in new tab icon shows the page full-size in its own browser tab.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Your change appears in the Preview panel after saving. If you are editing inside a package, the change is saved to the package only — the live site is not updated until the package is approved and merged (see Submitting to workflow). If you are editing the site directly, use Publish in the editor header to review and publish the site’s draft content.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The preview panel says to set up URLs in the site settings — the site has no preview URL configured yet. Ask your administrator to add one in the site settings.
- There is no Edit button, only Review — you can view this site but not change it. Ask your administrator for edit access.
